BREAKING NEWS: VOOICE ASSEMBLY USA Unveils the Flagship Global Debate Championship 2026 – Harvard Merdeka Edition in Kuala Lumpur!
LOS ANGELES, USA — Building on the resounding success of the Global Debate Championship 2026 held this past August at the historic Armada Hotel in Old Sultanahmet, Istanbul, VOOICE ASSEMBLY USA has officially announced its next international flagship assembly: the Global Debate Championship 2026 — Harvard Merdeka Edition. Set to convene in the vibrant metropolis of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from December 16 to December 20, 2026, this historic gathering promises to be one of the most prestigious intellectual summits of the decade. Young visionaries, diplomats, and debaters from across the world will converge to deliberate on humanity's most pressing dilemmas and compete for the supreme honor: the Harvard Merdeka Crown 2026.

This edition marks an extraordinary leap forward in global parliamentary excellence, bringing together top-tier academic bodies and international diplomatic frameworks. The championship is organized by VOOICE ASSEMBLY USA in major collaboration with the European Debates Society and the Harvard Debate Council, featuring official academic collaboration with the prestigious French Debating Association (FDA). To ensure the highest caliber of discourse, the 2026 championship will operate under four recognized policy and procedural frameworks: the Harvard Debate Society Parliamentary Standards 2026, the United Nations Youth, Peace and Security Agenda 2026, the United Nations General Assembly Debate Protocol 2026, and the European Union Youth Strategy 2026 Framework.

Delegates will engage in intense parliamentary debate across four cutting-edge thematic tracks engineered to test strategic analysis, diplomatic tact, and visionary problem-solving. The first track, Artificial Superintelligence & Human Dignity, focuses on navigating autonomous systems, ethical machine governance, and fundamental human rights in an AI-driven era. The second track, Space Law & Off-World Sovereignty, explores establishing legal jurisdiction, resource rights, and orbital governance beyond Earth’s atmosphere. The third track, Climate Economics & Energy Transitions, targets balancing aggressive global decarbonization with equitable economic development for global South nations. Finally, the fourth track, Human Rights vs. National Sovereignty, addresses border security, international intervention, and individual liberties within modern geopolitical friction points.

To maintain exceptional debate standards, participation for the Harvard Merdeka Edition is strictly limited to 230 competitive seats globally, structured across four featured categories. These include 10 Fully Funded Debater Scholarships offering full institutional coverage to top-tier candidates, 20 Partially Funded Debater Scholarships providing merit-based support for emerging voices, 10 Delegate Access Passes reserved for official observers and institutional leaders, and 190 Self-Funded Delegate Seats open to competitive debaters worldwide. Following the momentum generated by August’s gathering at the Armada Hotel in Old Sultanahmet, Istanbul, this upcoming Kuala Lumpur edition expands the tradition with five days of preliminary rounds, diplomatic networking forums, and the grand quest for the Harvard Merdeka Crown Champion 2026.
